About ISLA Foundation

The Isla Foundation began its journey in 2005 as Tigwirane Manja Community Based Organization, operating in communities such as Bangwe, Namiyango, Ntenje, and many more. For years, we worked at the grassroots level, focused on a simple yet powerful mission: to uplift those around us.
Our deep-rooted commitment to serving the minority in all aspects of life inspired us to grow. In 2022, we officially transformed into a non-government organization (NGO) and became the Isla Foundation. This transition allowed us to expand our reach and impact, while staying true to the community-first values we were built on.

Our Mission

The name “Isla” was chosen to reflect the core values and passion of our founder. It’s a Spanish name that means “devoted to God,” a tribute to the unwavering dedication to charity, compassion, and love for people that our founder and the entire Isla team embodies every single day.
This name serves as a constant reminder of our mission: to serve others with a spirit of devotion and care, and to work tirelessly to create a better world for everyone.

Our mission is to rehabilitate the living standards of minority groups by providing life-changing support and opportunities that empower them to build a brighter future.
